2 Corinthians 1:8-11

We do not want you to be uninformed, brothers and sisters, about the troubles we experienced in the province of Asia. We were under great pressure, far beyond our ability to endure, so that we despaired of life itself.  Indeed, we felt we had received the sentence of death. But this happened that we might not rely on ourselves but on God, who raises the dead. He has delivered us from such a deadly peril, and He will deliver us again. On Him we have set our hope that He will continue to deliver us, as you help us by your prayers. Then many will give thanks on our behalf for the gracious favor granted us in answer to the prayers of many.

  • Our family as we struggle with various issues (God knows what they are) - pray for a spirit of perseverance, for wholeness (mentally, spiritually, physically, emotionally), for protection over our marriage and relationships, for new friendships, for healing physically, discernment about possible hip surgery for Chris (have it done in December in Korea or States?)  for Sara's faith in Christ to grow, for new Christian friendships, and the struggles of being a teenager

  • Pray for all of my students here at KCU whom I have developed friendships with.  Help each of them to grow in their faith in God and to know God's will for their lives

  • Monday morning Bible study group (10-15 kids) and my Thursday English Bible class

  • Starting a student church (we want what God wants, when God wants, where, who) - we have run into a lot of roadblocks which means God has something very specific in mind here; we need time to build authentic relationships - we are thinking about trying something with those in our Monday study group and Thursday class

  • Our friend Jong and his family, for them to come to faith in Jesus (Teresa has studied English with him now for 3 years)

  • Take students on mission trip in 2018?  If so, where?  Here in Korea?  Tanzania is a "no-go" due to strict change in visas there; possible options, we have Brazil, Kenya, China, Philippines, and Myanmar

  • Loosen our tongues to speak Korean

  • We thank God for all of our prayer partners and supporters!

  • That God will raise up "Timothy's, Lydia's, and Korean co-workers"
